I am confused, although it's elementary

I am confused.

I remember the debates of old around alcohol and tobacco advertising. I remember MPs and politicians of a certain leaning fighting to prevent any restrictions. Their justification was that people aren’t so stupid to be so easily influenced in their behaviours. It was never about the vast profits made by certain companies.

But now I see in the last month politicians blaming comedy and drama for dramatically influencing how we think about such important things as the First World War. Who knew that Blackadder had more impact on attitudes than the millions pumped into advertising? Apparently, according to the Daily Mail, the last episode of Sherlock is another attempt to subvert our thoughts and behaviours by shockingly showing a Press Baron behaving badly. The walls will no doubt be stormed by the soft headed who are being fed this diet of left wing propaganda.

The BBC is to blame for this clever subversion of our thoughts. It’s only fair that they be put in the spotlight and held to account. It can’t be about any agenda to undermine this broadcaster who doesn’t rely on corporate advertising to be able to inform and entertain us and can’t be pressured by the big business lobby.

But at least there is some clarity now, advertising washes over us but laughter and drama perverts the mind. Thank you Messrs Gove, Johnson and the Mail for bringing clarity to my spongy mind. If you do want a laugh take a moment to read this – but don’t let it influence you http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2538350/Sherlocks-new-press-baron-foe-evidence-Left-wing-bias.html
